This recipe is the classic chocolate chip cookie but with a softer twist. This recipe makes a sweet cookie but with softness. I think this recipe has the perfect amount of flour to ensure the light and fluffy texture of these cookies.
Here is the ingredients you will need: Butter, Sugar, Brown Sugar, Baking Soda, Eggs, Flour, Vanilla Extract, Salt and Chocolate Chips.
This is the butter, both sugars and the vanilla before being combined.
Begin adding eggs in one by one. In another bowl mix the flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture into the butter mixture.
Once adding the flour mixture the consistency should change.
Once totally combined, this should be the texture.
Mix in the chocolate chips by hand.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours or at least 1 hour. If you do not refrigerate the dough will spread and melt while in the oven, instead of forming circles.
Once out of the fridge it should be a bit stiffer in consistency.
Form balls (they will be sticky and sort of tough to form) and place evenly spaced out to ensure the cookies won’t bake together.
P.S: I made two batches. The first batch I did not let the dough set in the fridge and they all melted together. In the first batch I also used white chocolate and milk chocolate resulting in sweeter cookies. The recipe can be tweaked to any of your specific preferences. One time about a year ago, I made cookies with A LOT of flour in attempt to make the dough tougher. It , for one, didn’t really make the dough any stiffer but it made the cookies bake like soft scones. They were really good! Tweaks in ingredients can make ALL the difference. ANYWAYS my second batch set in the fridge for about 24 hours and they baked perfectly.
These cookies are seriously addictive. They are so light, they won’t weigh you down as you eat…them all. Enjoy and tweak as you like! I’m pretty sure my boyfriend would have wanted them crisper and sweeter, so a more classic choice. Maybe a recipe for that soon! Leave a comment below if you have tried the recipe 🙂
