PERFECT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

I have one other chocolate chip recipe on the blog from a couple of years ago and I loved it at the time. But y’all this one is so much better haha. These are my favorite cookies I have ever made!

It has that perfect balance of salty and sweet and crispy and soft 🤤

So if that sounds like your type of cookie let’s go!

the perfect chocolate chip cookies

14 tbs salted sweet cream butter

2 and 1/3 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp sea salt

1 cup and 2 tbs brown sugar packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp vanilla

2 eggs room temperature

1 cup milk

1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chip your preference, mix it up

Here is the only real “extra” step from classic cookies. You want to brown your butter a little bit. Just melt it over medium-high heat and stir continuously. Honestly, I could have gone a little longer and I want to try that next time. Let me know if you try it how they turn out!

Alright, while you wait for the butter to cool down you can mix your dry ingredients together. You just want to combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Moving on you need to cream your butter and sugar together until you get a consistency like this.

Then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

Next up, add your eggs one at a time and beat until combined.

Next, take your bowl out of the stand mixer and fold your flour mixture in just until the flour has disappeared.

Cookie dough is my weakness wow. Fold in your chocolate chips and tada!

You want to roll your dough into balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. The size is honestly up to you.

So I tried to see if it made a difference in spreading if I placed them in balls or pre-flattened them. It didn’t really change much haha.

Bake for about 10 minutes at 375 degrees F and enjoy them with a glass of oat milk 😜

They are so good and honestly don’t require much “extra effort”. You can even make it in big batches and save it in the fridge for whenever you want some quick homemade cookies.

If you try this recipe let me know your thoughts! Is it your type of cookie?

INGREDIENTS

  • 14 tbs salted sweet cream butter regular butter also works just won't be as sweet

  • 2 and 1/3 cup flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1 cup and 2 tbs brown sugar packed

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 2 eggs room temperature

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chip your preference, mix it up

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. The first thing I recommend doing is setting your eggs out so they come to room temperature.

  2. Next, get your butter into a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir continuously for a couple of minutes until its completely melted and the butter has lightly browned. Pour the butter into a heat-safe bowl and place it in the fridge. This should take about one hour to cool but if you want to expedite the process I placed it in the freezer for about 10 minutes.

  3. Once your butter reaches room temperature you can preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  4. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and sea salt.

  5. In a stand mixer (using the paddle) add your butter and both sugar. Beat for a couple of minutes, until the mixture looks creamy and fluffy.

  6. Add the vanilla and mix until combined.

  7. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until combined. Remove your bowl from the stand mixer.

  8. Gently fold the flour mixture in just until the flour has disappeared. Fold in your chocolate chips.

  9. Line a baking sheet with nonstick foil or parchment and nonstick spray.

  10. Roll 3 tbs sized balls of dough (or really however big or small you want). They don't spread too much but still leave some room on the baking sheet.

  11. Bake for 10 minutes until the edges are golden and the top of the cookies are barely golden.
