This holiday season we decided to make something a little more interesting than a mimosa or just a glass of wine.
The things you will need to make this a reality is:
1 cocktail shaker and muddler
3 shots of Apple ciroc
3/4 cup of orange juice
1 cup of cranberry juice
1/2 cup of granulated sugar (for sugar rim)
1 orange *garnish*
granny smith apple *garnish*
1/2 cup of ice
You want to start off with the glass you plan on drinking out of. Then slice an orange in half and rub the rim with the juices.
Then dip the cup in the granulated sugar for a cute (and delicious) rim.
Now, let’s start the part with alcohol! You basically throw everything into the cocktail shaker. Start with the ice and use the muddler to mash it a little bit. My dad said this tip makes the ice make your drink even colder. Something that has to do with chemistry (don’t ask me for the exact science).
Then, add in the Ciroc, orange juice, and cranberry juice. Shake it up in your cocktail shaker until everything is combined.
Grab your glass and pour it in through the cocktail strainer. Make sure you did the sugar already, there is no going back from here. Add your garnishes to the glass and it’s all set. I wish I had added some orange peel curls but you totally can!
This drink was super delicious and honestly really easy to make. You could make it in bulk and throw it into a pitcher. Obviously put the ice on the side and everyone can make them as the day (or night) goes on.
the perfect holiday cocktail
Servings 2 cocktails
1/2 cup Ice
3 shots Apple Ciroc
3/4 cup Orange Juice
1 cup Cranberry
1 Orange for sugar rim and garnish
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
Granny Smith Apples garnish
Grab a cocktail shaker and muddler.
Add in the ice, ciroc, cranberry and orange juice.
Using the muddler crush up the ice until its a little crushed but not finely crushed. Crushing the ice helps the drink get colder faster.
Next run an orage around the rim of your cup and dip it in granulated sugar.
Pour your drink through the shaker strainer and then add some of the crushed ice.
Slice your apples and add them as a garnish. Pop in a few cranberries for looks. If you want to be really decorative, you can shave some orange peels and add them to the top for color and fragrance.
