CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD

When in quarantine, make bread. That seems to be the overall consensus.

So today we will be exploring the makings of chocolate chip banana bread. it seems everyone has bananas going bad so banana bread is the go-to recipe.

I saw one person post it and was immediately like I am saving two bananas just for this.

Funny enough my cousin Emily was making her own banana bread on the same day, by total chance. We decided to facetime while we each baked. When in quarantine, right?

So let’s get into what you need!

INGREDIENTS

- 3-4 Bananas (I only had two and it tasted good still)

- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar

- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

- 1 Egg

- ¼ cup Vegetable Oil

- 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour

- 1 ¼ tsp. Baking Powder

- ½ tsp. Baking Soda

- Cinnamon *to your liking

- ⅛ tsp. Salt

- 1 cup Chocolate Chips (or more if you want, chunks would be amazing too 🤤)

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. First, preheat to 350 degrees F.

  2. Prep your loaf pan by lining it with parchment paper. I cut mine so two sides are taller than the pan, this makes it foolproof to remove the loaf. Look at the photos to see how I did it. Then spray with PAM.

  3. Mash the bananas with a fork.

  4. Add the sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil.

  5. Then add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Your batter should be lumpy!

  6. Fold in your chocolate chips.

  7. Pour your batter into the dish and top with more chocolate if you want! (I didn't this time)

  8. Bake for about 50-60 minutes. Or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

  9. Let it cool a little and dig in!

Next, mash the bananas with a fork. As I said I only had two bananas but the recipe was still really good. You could totally substitute the missing banana for an extra ingredient but I went ahead without all that. I wanted my banana bread haha.

Then add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

I have never made banana bread and I was NOT disappointed. This recipe was moist and had the perfect balance of all the flavors. I will say I think that extra banana and chocolate chunks would have made it EVEN better but it was still so good.

I honestly thought this recipe was going to be way more involved and require a ton of dishes but seriously you just measure it all, combine it in a bowl, and bake! Definitely a good quarantine indulgence. You can pretend it’s still healthy, because… bananas.

Please please try this recipe and tag me on any socials! I would love to see how it turned out.
