SIMPLE 2 INGREDIENT WHIPPED CREAM

So this "recipe" is a staple that every single person should know how to make. It is literally two ingredients and, in my opinion, a different experience than store bought whipped cream. Maybe its the love, maybe its the freshness, but it just hits different.
The reason I really brought this to the blog was because my niece and sister in law have been baking more and they were curious what a basic whipped cream recipe looked like.
It is such an easy and simple recipe that is super versatile. You can leave it on its own and dip fruit in it, you can top things with it, or you can add it to a recipe for a lighter consistency.
INGREDIENTS
1 pint (16 fl oz) Heavy Whipping Cream, cold
½ cup Powdered Sugar
OPTIONAL
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Bean Paste
INSTRUCTIONS
In a large bowl, add the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar. At this point you can definitely add vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste as well if you want!
Mix with a hand mixer until it reaches the consistency you want. It will take about 5 minutes to start holding the marks of the hand mixer. From there, another few minutes and it will reach a stiff peak. A soft whipped cream will go to a stiff peak very quickly so be sure to watch carefully. If you over mix, you will end up with a broken whipped cream that isn't smooth anymore.

A good fix is adding more cold heavy whipping cream if you have some.
