VEGAN APPLE TART

My friends bought a home so of course I had to bake them some goodies to have out at their housewarming party. This recipe is honestly really easy, especially because you don't have to peel the apples and it looks stunning!

INGREDIENTS

CRUST

- 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour

- ½ cup Vegan Butter, chilled and cubed

- 3 tbs. Granulated Sugar

- 2-3 tbs. Cold Water

- 1 tbs. Granulated Sugar, for topping

- 1 tbs. All-Purpose Flour, for topping

- ¼ tsp. Cinnamon , for topping

APPLES

- 2-3 large Red Apples

- ½ Lemon, juice

- Cardamom, pinch

- Cinnamon, pinch

- 1 tbs. Granulated Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour, chilled butter, and sugar. Using your fingers combine all the ingredients until a shaggy dough forms. Slowly add water one tbs at a time until it comes together.

  2. Vegan butter will easily melt so once combined let the dough chill for 5 minutes in the fridge.

  3. Grease your tart dish and spread dough evenly across the dish. Prick the bottom of the dough with a fork and chill again for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Next, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and parbake the crust using foil and pie weights or dried rice/beans for 10 minutes. Then remove the foil and weights and bake for another 5 minutes.

  5. While in the oven in a small bowl combine the topping 1 tbs. sugar, 1 tbs. flour, and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon.

  6. Once parbaked, sprinkle the flour mixture evenly across the tart crust.

  7. Slice your apples into 1/4-1/2 inch slices and arrange in your tart. Don't overthink it, just place them in tightly however you want.

  8. Squeeze lemon juice across the apples. Sprinkle the sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom over the top and bake. Optional to also spread melted butter over the top before sprinkling.

  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes and let cool before removing from your dish.
