Buttercream is such an easy frosting to make and it uses minimal ingredients. This vegan buttercream is essentially the same as regular buttercream, the only difference being vegan butter.
INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup Vegan Butter, softened
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar, sifted*
- ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch Sea Salt
*use less sugar for a less sweet frosting, this recipe is sweet
INSTRUCTIONS
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer cream together your butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
Mix until well combined, lighter in color, and a creamy consistency.

Add frosting into a bag to pipe. If too soft, place in the fridge for a few minutes. If too hard after leaving in the fridge, let set on the counter until the right consistency.
You can spread across your baked goods or pipe, either works! You can also add food coloring to achieve different colors of frosting.
