EASY IMMUNITY SHOTS

I love making immunity shots as a simple way to feel like I am getting ahead of my health on a daily basis.
I recently made a larger batch option of this so it can last a bit longer! I have seen some other recipes that require straining and honestly I just wanted to simplify this recipe as much as possible so I am more likely to actually do it. So I highly reccomend using the ginger cubes but fresh is also great, you just need to strain!
I also went the next level and used fresh squeezed orange juice, which sometimes I cut corners and simply use bottled OJ. Anyways, whatever gets you to consistently want to make this, I'm in support!
INGREDIENTS
(makes 3 cups)
¾ cup Fresh Lemon Juice (about 5–6 lemons)
1 ½ cups Orange Juice (about 3-4 large oranges)
3 Ginger Cubes (or 2-3 inches of Fresh Ginger, peeled)
¾ tsp. Ground Turmeric
¼ – ½ tsp. Cayenne Pepper
¼ tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper, (this activates the turmeric!!)
1 cup Water (optional, stretches the batch)
INSTRUCTIONS
Add everything to a blender and blend for a few seconds.
Taste and adjust:
More orange juice if too sharp
More cayenne if you want more kick
More water if it’s too intense
Store in glass jars or bottles in the fridge for 4–5 days. Shake before each use.
If you're using fresh ginger you must strain the mixture when adding to glass container.
Freeze what you won't finish in 5 days! Leave room for expansion in your container when freezing.
FREEZING INSTRUCTIONS
Pour into ice cube trays for small daily portions, or silicone freezer trays / small jars for full shot-size servings.
If using jars, leave about 1 inch of space at the top since liquid expands when frozen.
Freeze for up to 2–3 months for best flavor.
To use:
Move 1 serving to the fridge the night before, or let sit at room temp for 20–30 minutes, or drop frozen cubes into a glass and let thaw.
I opted to fresh squeeze both my lemons and oranges. I always use fresh lemons but sometimes, on a lazier day, I just use bottled OJ. It takes one more step out of the equation, so do whatever works for you!
