Another year, another Coachella experience! This is my fourth year at Coachella and this year we dove into the world of festival camping.
Here is my Amazon storefront which I curated with two lists; Coachella Essentials and Coachella Camping.
I don't know if you already heard but... weekend one camping was a MESS! Half the internet is trauma bonded over the experience and the other half is annoyed that "rich" people are complaining. I'm pretty sure if you were in line from 3 a.m. to 12 p.m. with no word from Goldenvoice, no acknowledgement, no restrooms, and running on no sleep, you too would be frustrated.
I don't think anyone is asking for much but acknowledging the major inconvenience we all went through and how it could have been better. This multi million dollar festival can barely provide shade unless you pay more for it. My first Coachella, they ran out of water at the refill stations. By no means do I think we can't "rough it" but like... I just think there is room for improvements to meet peoples basic needs.
Not to mention the employees were working in such rough conditions too! The guy who checked our car had been working 12+ hours by the time we reached him. We offered every employee we saw waters and snacks because they must have been just as miserable in the heat.
That being said, the music and the memories make it all worth it, which is exactly why they don't care to fix the problems unless we're loud about them lol. People will still come and that's all that matters. Anyways, my little two cents and like yeah duh I am still obsessed with the experience that is Coachella.
So after waiting in line for hours we set up in the scorching sun and relaxed at camp for a bit. We decorated to celebrate Mel's birthday early with a scavenger hunt and cake! I made the Vegan Orange Cardamom Cake with Vegan Buttercream. I topped it with crushed pistachio and hibiscus. We literally did not eat it but the effort was there lol.
After that we decided to shower and get the pre-game going for Chris Lake at camp. Last real complaint was the shower lines this day. We literally waited an hour to shower, in no shade. Luckily, it got better, Thursday was just a hot mess.
The moment we remembered what we waited in that line for. The MUSIC! Chris Lake brought me back to life and then rocked me to sleep by midnight. I had not slept since waking up on Wednesday at 7 a.m. so we needed sleep by midnight on Thursday.
Waking up Friday ever so slightly refreshed the girls started girl-ing. Doing our nails and getting ready for the day. Plenty of Emergen-C, Liquid IV, and breakfast served by our point chef, Alex.
We tried matching everyday as a group so the vibes Friday were white lace. Thrifted this whole fit, per usual and it was one of my faves. In that third photo the girl running up to us asked to take a pic of me and Mel for fit inspo. Hopefully she actually liked our fits and wasn't just hating LOL.
Day two we went for the party animal theme and all found animal print fits. I ended up finding this dress at the thrift a loooong time ago and cut it. Mel used the excess fabric as a head wrap and it was soooo good! Also these fans I got for Mel for her birthday and we didn't realize how much we needed fans this whole time lol.
We had the Forever Pie combo deal and it was definitely still a good deal but they changed it from last year. For a few more dollars they added a cookie... I was annoyed LOL. But alas, still a great deal and delicious vegan pizza so I recommend.
Day three ended up being my favorite outfit. I also thrifted the whole outfit and borrowed Logans shoes lol. It was giving Riverdale but omg it was just so comfy and easy lol.
I also tried Happy Ice and really liked it. Might have also maybe put some tequila in it...
Post Malone I literally cried, nostalgia and alcohol induced. I was definitely excited to see him but it was the experience I didn't know I needed. The weekend was full of soooo many performances that I absolutely loved and then some that I am sad I missed.
Another Coachella in the books and I am so sad that weekend two is starting now. If only I could make it to both weekends, that's a dream!
Either way, see ya next year Coachella, and please don't make me stress over pre-sale tickets in less than a week.... please.
