I cannot believe this is my fifth year at Coachella. I feel so lucky and blessed to have gone for so many years in a row. Let's get into breaking down my second year camping!
Here is my Amazon storefront which I curated with two lists; Coachella Essentials and Coachella Camping. It is truly crucial to be prepared when it comes to a three day festival. You do not want to go in with a wristband a dream. You will leave chewed up and spit out and probably stuck with a coachella cough.
If you want to see a bit more of my weekend check out my vlog on Youtube as well!!
This year we were soooo lucky to get into car camping super quickly. We started getting in line around 2:30 a.m. and we fully setup camp before the sun fully rose. Our camp was perfectly laid out and centrally located to everything!
Compared to last years debacle of waiting in line for 8 hours and setting up in the blazing heat at 1 p.m. We felt very lucky, and at the end of the day this stuff does come down to luck a little bit.
I tried napping once we got setup and slept maybe a couple hours. I chugged some water and got out into the sun to catch a tan. Maybe got carried away in the sun and caught a little too much color on my nose (as you'll see later lol).
My biggest goal was to make it to the hill at sunset on Day Zero. We just barely made it in time and honestly it was a cloudy overcast type of sunset but we got a nice view and the camaraderie of the Day Zero at camp. We sat and enjoyed for a few minutes before heading back to our campsite to pregame for Disco Lines.
We got super close and had so much fun dancing for an hour. This crowd of men next to us were super rowdy and quite frankly annoying. They slammed into me and I got shoved into the poor girl behind me (she was a sweetie pie and saw the men being dumb).
After like 30 minutes after that I was ready to leave. I also tried out my Doc Marten's and again nooooot comfy. Didn't lose a toenail or anything but yeah no. We all eventually made it back to camp and they finally played No Broke Boys at the very end and thank god we could jam from camp.
Day One!!!! The first official day is here. Luckily, in the morning, I pulled out all my outfit options and nailed down the fits. I actually didn't end up wearing a fit so its going to have to make an appearance somewhere this summer.
We had so much time this day to hang out, pregame, and get ready! Katie actually put my hair into heatless curling rods. She actually slayed so hard. If it had not been so windy, I think my hair all day would have been so good, considering they were only in for a couple hours.
I thrifted this crochet dress a few months ago on a whim that it would be a good Coachella option. I also thrifted the necklace with Coachella in mind and it really came together. They are not lying when they say the accessories pull an outfit together.
Funny enough I actually borrowed a bra from a new friend at camp. It reaaaally made the look complete. So shout out Demi.
The night ended at Sabrina Carpenter and that was of course a highlight. I saw her when she was last at Coachella and loved it so I knew this year would be no different. Do I wish the transitions were shorter.. yes lol but alas I had a great time.
Day Two was a hard hitting day because Katie and I had to head out from camp early to make it to her work event, the Interscope and Capital Records party!! We left camp at 11 am to make an Uber out. The freebies, the energy, the food and drinks, everything was soooo nice.
We got back from the party and saw the most insane line to get into car camping security. Once we made it to the front the took my Primal Kitchen Buffalo Sauce and I was so annoyed lol.
If that was the only bad thing that happened, I will take it.
Once we finally got back to camp and had some time to eat, decompress, change, and pregame all over again. We were exhauuuusted but despite all odds we made it into the festival again.
I went for a jorts fit to really channel my inner Justin Bieber. This outfit really came together at the last second. Originally I planned to wear the sequin bikini top from earlier but it was so scratchy and uncomfy. We went full quirky and silly.
David Guetta was so unreal and especially because Katie and I happened to end up on the rail. I think he was definitely a highlight of the weekend. So many good songs and the people around us were a good time too. It really does make a difference where you are in the crowd.
After David Guetta we walked over to David Byrne but he was running behind. We popped by the food stalls for a little snack... $13 fries. I asked if they had ketchup and they told me it would be an upcharge but they ran out anyways LOL. Hit the spot nonetheless. Also got to wear my new sneakers I got from the Interscope and Capitol Records party!
After a quick fry break we ran over to catch Justin Bieber. I saw there were mixed reviews but I personally loved it. I felt like Youtube was where it all began for him and him serenading his younger self really did something for me.
We were convinced walking out of the festival we were going to make it to the Silent Disco and once we got to camp we were SAT. We could not physically get up once we got into cozy clothes.
The wind was definitely whipping a lot on Saturday and proceeded into Sunday. Luckily, we weren't too affected by the wind in terms of EZ ups or anything like that! Don't know if that was preparation or just luck, or maybe a combination of both.
Day Three, the final day. It always hits so hard waking up on the last day. We had to pack up camp and get ready to move our cars over to day parking. We spent a lot of time at camp once it was all packed up just to hang out because we didn't want to head into the festival until 6 p.m.
We saw Foster the People first and that was so much fun. After that we bopped around a bit and ultimately saw Fatboy Slim for the full set. We could not stop dancing it was such a good set. Which honestly I would not have clocked.
We tried to run around different sets for a bit but ended up heading home around 11:30 p.m. because we had a drive ahead of us. The second I got home I hopped in the shower and tucked right into bed. What an exhausting weekend but I was so glad to wake up in my own bed.
It's seriously such a bummer missing so many artists I wanted to see just by the nature of the weekend and timing. I might just have to tune into the streams this weekend!
I actually am so insane for this but I unpacked everything immediately and washed all the laundry and makeup brushes. I was resetting for the week. Luckily not too crazy of a work week so I could take it easy on Monday.
We are thinking next year would maybe be worthwhile to get preferred camping or shoot... MAYBE just maybe we skip next year and run a trip instead.
I will never regret attending but this was one of the years I felt so tired every night. Granted we did rest a lot and balanced the weekend really well. So I fear... am I maybe just getting old... or a little tired and need a mini break..we shall see.
Either way, maybe I will see ya next year Coachella, and please don't make me stress over pre-sale tickets in less than a week.... please.
